David and Jacquie live at the Idyllic Hills vineyard, which is situated at an elevation of 620m above sea level, in the gorgeous town of Murrumbateman. The vineyard is located in the heart of the cool climate wine region of the Canberra district.

The Miller family purchased this sensational property in 2007 and has been producing our popular boutique, quality Idyllic Hills Wines table wines annually. At our Vineyard we grow Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier, and Merlot.
Best viticultural practices are adopted and the premium quality of the grapes is ensured by limiting the yield to under two tons per acre. As the fruit ripens bird netting is applied to ward off large flocks of birds which would otherwise peck the berries and be very destructive. Dave rigorously monitors the Baume' of each variety to ensure we pick at optimum sugar/alcohol balance.
Our pruning regime ensures a low yield, producing crop quality, rather than quantity.
At optimum ripeness our grapes are generally hand picked by family and friends. This culmination of the season brings together three generations of the Miller family and their friends in the idyllic surrounds of our beautiful vineyard.
The grapes are then vinified with guiding inputs from David and Jacquie determining the ultimate style of the wines. Our red wines are then aged in French oak barrels until ready for bottling.
